Wegener showing off MPEG-4 STB for IPTV

 
Wegener Corporation's SMD-515 box, capable of decoding MPEG-2, MPEG-4/h.264 and VC-1 broadcasts with as little as 6mbps (little?) of data. They're displaying the box at Telecom '05 in Las Vegas which is going on right now, so if IPTV providers are impressed, that box could be coming to a living room near you very soon. Plus you won't have to rewire everything because it hooks up to your existing coax. 1920x1080i output and HDMI come standard, DVR optional.
