The Garmin iQue M4 GPS-enabled Pocket PC
Last up from Garmin today (we hope), a new GPS-enabled Pocket PC. The introduction of the iQue M4 will certainly satisfy the curiousity of anyone who was wondering why in the hell they skipped from the
iQue M3 straight to the
iQue M5. The big deal here is that this is the first Garmin Pocket PC to come pre-loaded with maps for the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico as well as a new higher-sensitivity SiRF GPS receiver. The not-so-big deal is that other than that this thing isn't much of an improvement over their earlier models — the M4 runs on Windows Mobile 2003 SE, rather than the newer version of the OS,
and has a 312MHz processor, 64MB of RAM, 32MB of ROM (is that even enough space to pre-load all those maps?), an SD/MMC
memory card slot, a 3.5-inch, QVGA display, and no Bluetooth or WiFi. Should retail for $642.84 when it goes on sale in December.
