Canucks catch up and get NHL in HD

What a tragedy that we got the NHL in high-def before our neighbors up north did! That's OK, things have a way of evening out and starting this Saturday, the U.S. high-def power play is over. NHL.com announced that CBC's Hockey Night in Canada kicks off their HDTV coverage this weekend.

The Canucks only get the first game of every Saturday night's doubleheader in HDTV, but hey, that's one more than before. The first HD puck drops this weekend at 7 p.m. as the 2004 champs, the Tampa Bay Lightning, take on the Toronto Maple Leafs above the border. Sorry hosers; I think you should have had the games in HD before us; it's your national sport after all!
