Good Morning America starts HD tommorrow

Today marks the end of Good Morning America's 30-year celebration. But, who cares about that when tomorrow they are making the jump to HD, sort of. Half of the country, Eastern and Pacific time zones will be able the true Diana Sawyer and Charles Gibson thanks to high-def. Central and Mountain, you can expect HD sometime in February. ABC admits that they were rushing to get HD ready for the 30-year celebration and did not solve the problems of multiple HD feeds.

ABC
is starting a trend with high-def this year and it is going to force the other networks to follow suite. I know that moving to high definition is not going to unseat The Today Show from its top slot, but it will help. NBC was on top of their game when they put Jay Leno in HD years ago, but they dragged their feet on this one.

HD
Beat will be there bright and early tomorrow morning with the first reactions and comments to the switchover. Just bring me some coffee.
