Nov. 2: What's on HDTV today

What we're watching
:
"Lost" is a repeat tonight, so I'm looking to give some new shows another shake in high-def starting with "E-Ring" on NBC
at 8 p.m. This is the first part of a two-parter, so I feel compelled to tune to the 1080i broadcast. Additionally, some folks have commented that the show doesn't visually look to be in 1080i, so I'm on a mission to find out for sure.

Once I've sleuthed out the "E-Ring" resolution mystery, I'll hop over to CBS
for "Criminal Minds" at 9 p.m. in 1080i. Aside from the expected high quality visuals, the preview for show grabbed me based on the plot.

Tonight, the cast will be tracking down a sniper that only kills with shots to the stomach. Hmm...someone remind me to have a bedtime snack before this show...please? Also: if you missed the pilot episode of "Invasion" in high-def, it re-airs in 720p on ABC at 10 p.m.

After the jump is our traditional listing of HD programs throughout the night.
