Sony to develop Micro Cell processor for mobile devices

Jeez Sony, just can't leave well enough alone, can you? We received word from MobileIndustry that Kutaragi's announced Sony's intention to introduce a some new kind of mobile processor, the Micro Cell, in conjunction with Ericsson. We don't have any idea whether the Micro Cell will adhere to the generally standardized mobile architecture
(that'd be ARM) or run closer to the full and fully proprietary
Cell processor, but given Sony's general disdain for, um, standards, we'd assume ARM architecture's probably not in the cards. MI also made mention a "Dual Cell" processor, but we're a little light on details right now, so stay tuned.
