Tank Wars competition seeks smart AI programmers

You have a tank, with 1000 units of fuel and 1000 units of health. You are on a 100m x 100m square and there is another tank on the field trying to kill you. Your goal is to program the best possible artificial intelligence (AI), in C++, for your tank to kill anyone that stands in your path.

Electronic Arts has a new competition running to seek out the best AI programmers from select universities around the country. Grand prize (the only prize) is a computer filled with EA PC games. The full list of rules and eligible schools can be found
here. For those not attending one of the the 14 select universities, you can still download the Tank Wars software package and try to program the smartest tank possible for your own bemusement.
