DIY Windows Media Center with(out) high definition dual tuner TV card

What good is that high definition content on your hard drive doing you if its not hooked up to your huge high definition TV?  None my friend, none. Like previous DIY how-to's we've covered, informit's walkthrough discusses some of the unexpected issues they had in putting their media center pc together. Altogether they did an admirable job of putting together a system for around $1000 with useful features such as an integrated front-mounted card reader and a Happauge dual tuner TV card (that is not HD capable – booo! – edit).

Honestly I'm not sure if the media center PC for the living room won't be soon cannibalized by the Xbox 360, which for $299 or $399 will do most everything you really want your Media Center to do except record TV and burn DVD's. If you have the media center OS somewhere else in the house streaming video to your TV will be a snap, and really, did you buy that big screen TV to check email and update spreadsheets?
