Nov. 4: What's on HDTV today

What we're watching
:

Yesterday we recommended a dark movie, today we'll go with both dark and light. "Alien vs. Predator" takes place in Antarctica; another good test for your HDTV set. There are plenty of dark, gory scenes, but any daylight shots of snow-white scenery will test your brightness and your contrast. Set 'em too high and all of the snowy textured backgrounds can seem to blend together, and who wants that right? The 1080i presentation kicks off at 8 p.m. on HBO-HD.

If battling monsters isn't your thing; that's cool. Let the kids stay up late for an HD double-feature family night on the WB. "Reba" starts a 9 p.m. and is followed by "Twins." Both are new episodes and both are in 1080i.

After the jump is our traditional listing of HD programs throughout the night.
