Samsung to use inkjet printer to create LCD's
From Displaybank's daily news updates, Samsung will start using an inkjet printer to produce TFT LCD color filters in June 2006. This will make them the first LCD manufacturer to implement the technology, even ahead of Sharp, who originally developed it.
My only question is, anyone who has ever had an inkjet printer knows that the printers are cheap, but the cartridges only last like 10 minutes and get pretty expensive after a while. I hope they can get a good price in bulk at the local Office Depot, or we may be looking forward to a sudden spike in LCD prices next year.
