Imation media in both high-def DVD formats

Isn't anyone going to take a stand in this HD DVD vs. Blu-Ray battle? I suppose I could call everyone a "wuss", but then again, these non-decisions on the format are good business calls. Imation is making one of those good calls today as they announce they will offer blank media in both HD DVD and Blu-Ray format.

The details on availability aren't due out until 2006, but you can count on Imation
to offer BD-RE (Blu-Ray Rewritable) and BRD BDR (Blu-Ray Recordable) media in 25- and 50-GB capacity. On the HD DVD side, expect to see HD DVD-R
(HD-DVD Recordable) and HD DVD-ReR (HD DVD Re-Recordable) in 15- and 30-GB sizes.

My take is that most of the media manufacturers will follow along the
"playing both sides" path. What's really annoying though is that the two sides can't even agree on a common acronym scheme. Why is one "Rewriteable" and one "Re-recordable"? C'mon gang, stop the pettiness; all you're doing is further confusing an already confused consumer!
