Largest sports rivalry in HDTV
As Americans we often think we're the center of the sports universe; by some standards we are, but not when it comes to football. I mean football in the world sense, it's what we "yanks" call soccer. VOOM
just announced that they're bringing the world's largest sports rivalry to the HDTV screen with the addition of new matches from the Spanish Premiere League.
The big rivalry in question is the one between Real Madrid and Barcelona. According to Mark DeAngelis, the VP of programming at RUSH-HD, "Being able to air two matches between Real Madrid and Barcelona is extremely exciting. Their rivalry is on par with the Yankees and Red Sox but on a global scale."
I'm actually a big soccer fan and these additional matches in high-def are gearing me up for World Cup 2006. All matches are available on RUSH-HD which is a VOOM channel available on Dish Network. Additional details on matches and dates are available after the jump.
