NEC FOMA N902i, camphone with image stabilization

It's not unusual for cameraphones to take — to put it rather kindly — fuzzy pictures, which has as much to do with shaky hands as it does the fantabulous optics and CCDs used in camphones. And while it may not do much about the glass or imager, NTT DoCoMo's NEC's FOMA N902i at least tries to take on those twitchy fingers by adding some optical image stabilization. Unfortunately, it's not the kind of image stabilization that digicam users may be used to; instead of physically shifting the lens or CCD, the N902i performs software stabilization, merging data from multiple shots taken within a split second of each other in an attempt to create a non-shaky whole. Sounds, er, shaky to us, but the 2 megapixel cam also interpolates up to 4 megapixels, so if you really still want fuzzy pics you should have no problem getting them.
