A Merry X-mas for Sony?

Does the holiday season signal the beginning of Sony's turnaround? We've been Sony-bashing lately, although not without cause,
so in the spirit of the upcoming holidays we thought to share some good news. Last month was a strong one for Sony; the first in many months if the financials have anything to do with it.

At a press conference earlier today, Stan Glasgow, the president of consumer sales for Sony Electronics provided more Sony optimism.
"We see a shift to higher priced consumer items, such as flat-panel TVs." We've seen that for quite a while, but we'll refrain from the "I
told you so."

On the serious side, Sony claims to own a third of the U.S. LCD revenue based on the success of the new Bravia line.
I'd have to question that, since the line is only a few months old, but I'm sure we'll see some industry reports in the near future. Sony also made mention of OLED screens as the cornerstone of their television dominance; lets see if that's true and if so, how will it stack up against SED sets in 2006?
