Joining the ranks of Chatalog is Unsanity's Chat Transcript Manager. This application, which will set you back 10 bucks, indexes both Adium X and iChat logs and makes searching a breeze.

Chat Transcript Manager has Address Book integration, let's you search for links, pictures, and chat participants and it includes native unicode support.

I, personally, delete all chat logs immediately as I don't want the Feds to find anything out, but if you hang onto your CTM might be the app you've been looking for.
