Christmas chart shows seasonal favourites

In the UK, the words "Christmas Number One" carry with them the horrific image of celebrity novelty singles being thrust under the noses of the undeserving public. However, music charts aren't all there is to it, as there's some serious competition to watch in the video game charts this season. The bookmakers Ladbrokes have released their predictions—fighting it out for the coveted top spot are three movie tie-ins, and
Prince of Persia 3.

While it's entirely plausible that The Chronicles of Narnia, King Kong and
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire will become the Christmas period's top sellers, it's a shame to see more unique titles are rated with higher odds, although almost every candidate for number one is a sequel. However, surprise results are common in the videogame charts, so only time will tell. We just hope that the top seller isn't Crazy Frog Racer.
