Xbox 360 cable connections compared
This was designed with the Xbox user in-mind but it does help our high definition cause. It proves, past reasonable doubt that HD is best the best. Gamespot took all the different options of hooking up the Xbox 360 and took screenshots of them. They start you off with RF (coax) cables and then move you up to the composite. Then they show you S-Video and finally show you HD with component video.
There is a huge difference (duh) between them. No contest. But if Gamespot could do this again, I would like to see two TVs used in the testing instead of just one 60-inch rear-projection LCD. Some people do have the money to game on big screens and these differences would be very evident on them, but not so much on the smaller CRTs that the majority of people have. Like I stated in the HDTV Buying Guide: Xbox 360 Edition, if you are using a small screen around 27-inches, try it out. You just might be happy with the picture that S-Video or component provides you. However, as Joystiq stated, don't use the RF output if you can avoid it!
