Panasonic's Toughbook CF-P2 smartphone
The FCC website, bearer of good tidings, has the word on a new
Pocket PC phone from Panasonic: the
Toughbook CF-P2. So yeah, it definitely had a run-in with the ugly stick, but we're sure it took the beating admirably. It's got 802.11b, Bluetooth, and an SD
card slot, but sadly they're sticking Windows Mobile 2003 SE inside of this thing, which negates a few of those toughness brownie points. Sure it can handle bumps, temperature, and humidity, but if we're dealing with the forces of nature, we want to get our Win Mob biz done real quick like, none of this menu mucking. Phone Scoop is saying not to expect this from any carriers, instead Panasonic and their resellers will be offering it directly at those often nasty un-subsidized prices, but no word on what those prices will be or when you can plunk down the cash.
