Robot eyes aid in medical training

Budding eye doctors looking to check out a wide range of ocular disorders now have a willing guinea pig in the form of EyeSim, a set of robotic eyes developed by Australian engineering student Tim Nelson. The EyeSim device, which recently won an award from the Institution of Electrical Engineers, can respond to stimuli in a manner consistent with human eyes, making them useful tools for training ophthalmologists. We assume, however, that the EyeSim doesn't include a companion HandSim to be used for swatting the eye doc if he shines that darn light in our eyes just one time.
