Panasonic builds a house around a PDP

Literally! Panasonic just completed
the "Eco & UD" life-sized model house; "UD" stands for universal design. The model is filled with Panasonic products that make life easier while also saving energy and maintaining an ecologically-friendly relationship. The futuristic house opens up to the public on January 4th, 2006 in Tokyo, so if you're in the neighborhood, drop on in.

The nerve center of the complex
is designed to be viewed and controlled via a large plasma-display-panel. The PDP is wired into the home's various systems and allows you to monitor the security system, access and download movies, and although not specifically mentioned, probably functions as a regular ol' TV as well.

Do we have any folks that built home-security, -automation, or über-entertainment around their television set? The Panny home makes my high-def, PVR and Xbox 360 kinda lame by comparison!
