Sony HDTV sales bounce back

We're not sure if the 250,000 super balls helped or it was just a sales bounce from Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but Sony moved quite a few HDTV sets over the Thanksgiving holiday. According to a press release, overall Sony sales were up 28% when compared to last year during the same season. On-line sales on Cyber Monday alone were up 19% compared to the same day in 2004.

Sony wasn't specific in terms of particular sales of indvidual products, but the 32- and 40-inch BRAVIA LCD sets were listed among the most popular items leaving the retail Sony Style stores. There was no mention of any Sony HDTVs in terms of popular on-line purchases, which poses an interesting poll question for later today. Watch for it and don't forget to vote!
