RCA Lyra M1001GB audio player

We're not quite sure why so many companies are still bothering to knock off the iPod shuffle, given that the player is the weakest seller in the iPod line. Of course, given that it still takes a couple of months for even the fastest Chinese factory to ramp up production, many of these models were probably planned a while ago, before the nano stole the shuffle's thunder and before
rumors of a smaller, colorful shuffle started to surface.
So, we'll forgive RCA/Thomson for rolling out the Lyra M1001GB, a 1GB gum-pack player with a fairly basic set of functions (MP3, WMA, DRM — no radio or line in) and a monochrome display. At least you should be able to pick up one of these (as well as its 256MB and 512MB siblings) pretty cheap, given that Lyras are hot sellers at stores like Target and Wal-mart, where they're subject to frequent and steep markdowns.
