The next step in HDTV domination: Schools...CHECK!
Last month, I wrote about certain steps that would aid in our quest to make high-def the primary way to view TV. The equipment and programming needs to drop in price. Then there must be a bigger range of programming, specifically targeting women with shows like The View and Opera. Mass marketing needs to be implemented and in-flight shows/movies is a great way to reach over a million views everyday. The last step is making it the norm for school children across the country. Well, I am pleased to announce that at least one school has taken the plunge and we can check the last step off of our list.
The school district of Olathe, Kansas has spent $1.4 million dollars on transforming classrooms into digital hubs. The school has installed electronic whiteboards, handheld computers, DVD/VHS player, wireless everything, but most importantly high definition TV! This is a great step forward.
Has anyone else noticed high definition in classrooms yet? Anyone?
