Media Companies team up to push HDTV
According to this article by Reuters, Charter Communications, Mitsubishi, General Electric, NBC, Samsung and Sun Microsystems are joining forces to work on standards for high definition television solutions.
The group will apparently work with existing groups like CableLabs, the CEA and MPAA to work on technologies like DVR's that record up to five HD channels at once, better universal remotes, and ways to share high definition content between PC's and portable devices.
