Remember Gateways plasmas? Be glad you didn't buy one.

Current plasma leaders like Panasonic and Samsung have a lot to thank Gateway for. It was Gateway that first put affordable
plasmas in the homes of Americans. Think back; you have to be able to remember those TV spots showing off plasmas inside of Gateways now defunct retail stores. They aggressively pushed the plasmas and were successful to a point. (You don't see them around that much anymore)
Apparently, there were some issues with those plasmas.

There is a class action lawsuit
in the works that is attacking Gateway for not standing behind their products. The consumers claim that they purchased the sets under the impression from Gateways adds that stated "new standards for quality and value." Unfortunately, the plasmas failed within months of the purchases and Gateway would not do anything. (I am just the messenger here folks) Gateway, of course, shot back by saying that they failed to contact them within the warranty period. Fair enough.

Does anyone have any experience with these TVs? I have never seen one in public nor have any knowledge of there reliability. In fact, I forgot that Gateway had made plasmas till I found the article. F.Y.I. they do not any more which begs the question why.
