Final Fantasy XI 360 beta an OXM exclusive

So you want to get your console MMO-in' on in 720p? The Xbox 360 beta for
Final Fantasy XI is coming to the States at long last, but it'll only be available in the February 2006 issue of Official Xbox Magazine.

The beta disc included will contain full versions of the two
FFXI expansion packs released so far (Rise of the Zilart and Chains of Promathia), and will be available in newsstand and subscriber copies by January 17, 2006.

This means of distribution stands in stark contrast to the methods chosen by Microsoft and Square's handlers in Japan, as early adopters picked up their 360s and FF beta discs over there at launch. It's good to know we haven't fallen too far behind our British brethren, however, as they've also been hooked into a distribution agreement with the Future-connected
publishing network. At least we won't have to download the beta from Live.
