Discovery is finally noticing that we are watching

Well, us HDTV watchers should feel special. Discovery Channel is going to start premiering shows from The Travel Channel and the non-HD Discovery Channel on Discovery HD Theater. This shows two things. First: they are premiering the shows up to a week before the normal release so this is a big deal. The initial showing is often the most heavily watched but they are showing us HDTV viewers it first. Obviously, they care about quite a bit about us.

Second, and more importantly, they are filming more and more in high definition. We already knew that a good portion of new TV shows are being filmed in high definition, and thanks to stations like HD Net and Universal HD, more people can view them in the better quality. Discovery is filming shows for the Travel Channel (not HD) in high-def then we should except to see even more programming diversity on Discovery HD Theater. Hopefully though, we will see more stations in high definition.
