PS3 still on track for May '06 launch?

Despite earlier, dubious rumors claiming the PS3 would be delayed until 2007, GameSHOUT is reporting they have been contacted personally by Sony to reassure them the system is on track for a May '06 launch. Sony's CEO, Sir Howard Stringer, said as recently as September that the sytem would launch this Spring in Japan, with the US following "later in the year" and Europe settling for a late '06/early '07 launch. So, nothing's changed then?
