Not a Mac, not an iPod...

David Chartier: one of the few things I could see being a big "it" product would be a much updated version of FrontRow on some kind of tiny Mac mini media center. This time around they include all the A/V and I/O they truly need

David Chartier: FrontRow seemed very much like they were just getting their feet wet; still wearing the life preserver

David Chartier: I think it would be weird yet if Apple just dove into consumer electronics with something like a TV

Damien Barrett: if Apple's focus is truly going to be about video and HD in 2006, they need to offer a product that reinforces the goal. Offering video for iPods isn't enough for me.
David Chartier: I don't think they have the brand for it yet
Damien Barrett: The Google, Yahoo, Microsoft competition will run circles around Apple's video download service *because* they aren't geared *only* for iPods.
Damien Barrett: I know ppl download videos to watch on their computers, but it's still doesn't complete the picture for me.
David Chartier: good point. Would you buy an Apple-branded HD set?

David Chartier: I'm nowhere near the tax bracket for HD so I'm not even familiar with prices, quality and brand

after playing with some alternatives, but I still grind my teeth
