XCute launches new supa' slim phone along with megapixel brethren
Some new phones from Taiwan's XCute shown at 3GSM managed to slip under the radar until now, but while our hopes are low for ever seeing these units in the US, we're fairly impressed by what this little manufacturer is packing into its devices. Their lead off phone is the incredibly thin S50 (pictured) which manages to include a 3 megapixel autofocus camera, 1.6 million color display, microSD slot, and TV out, all under 4 ounces. XCute's DV 80 slider has a 5 megapixel Sony CCD, Bluetooth, and most of the S50's specs, while DV 50 copies the DV 80 for specs but sticks it in a candybar form. All of these phones have an ability to bump their imaging resolution through software rendering, but it looks like they're doing just fine on their own — click on for shots of the DV 50 and DV 80.
