Being a geeky gamer makes you a good parent
As Helen Teixeira knows only too well, being married to a geek has its downsides. They hang out with nerds, they wear bad clothes and they spend ludicrous amounts on technology. Fortunately for Helen they happen to make great dads. An affinity for Lego, Math and science fair projects means that geeky dads are great with the kids. Another reason they rock so much is that they love video games. As Helen says: "If my children get 'stuck' while playing their Gameboys and bring it to me for assistance, all I can do is feebly hold it and say 'Mommy doesn't know how to play this.' Daddy,
however, can beat the game."
Here's a few more reasons why having a gaming spouse is a good thing:
- When it comes to Birthday and Christmas presents, they'll know which games to get the kids.
- Gamer parents know which games not to let their kids play. Ratings are there for a reason.
- The kids will always have someone with whom to play multiplayer games.
Can you think of any more reasons why gaming makes you a good (or bad) parent?
