No free Xbox Live weekend after all [Update 1]

Yesterday we reported that Verizon would be sponsoring a free weekend of Xbox Live Gold-level play on the weekend of April 1. April Fools! The event has been inexplicably removed from Xbox.com's XBL Calendar of Events (notice the dates are now blank in the image to the right).

UPDATE: As it turns out, there will be a free weekend of Xbox Live, "but not quite yet." Microsoft is still finalizing the details of the promotion, and the April 1-2 dates that were initially posted were only tentative. [Thanks, Rjcc]
