Quillboars the New Alliance Race?

Ever since the announcement of the release of the Burning Crusade expansion, the question everyone's debating has been what new race the Alliance will get in the upcoming expansion. Theories have ranged from Goblins, to Murlocs, to all manner in between.

The latest bit of conjecture over at the official forums is whether the race in question will turn out to be Quillboars. True, they're kind of an obscure race, but there is a pretty good case being made for the point over at this thread. It could all fit in pretty well with the established lore of Azeroth, and it would certainly give the Alliance a playable race as ugly as the Blood Elves are pretty, so, all in all, I've heard wilder theories. Blizzard is still tight-lipped on the matter for now, however, so it's still anybody's guess.
