AirPlay to bring mobile interactivity to TV shows
A new startup in California is hoping to capitalize on that cross section of the market that both owns a TV and a mobile phone — small as it may be — to offer interactive television programming. Their first offering, "AirPlay Sports," will debut this fall to offer armchair quarterbacks an opportunity to voice their opinion and compete with others for correct play calls. Reality TV
and game shows will follow soon, and all of the offerings will merely require an Internet capable phone to compete. No word on how AirPlay hopes to monetize their unique offering, but we're sure that something that combines sports,
reality TV, and an opinionated mobile-enable populace can't be far from some cash.
