Retro look: The PowerGlove (NES)

Above is a clip from the 1989 gamer classic, The Wizard. In it you see the movie's antagonist Lucas, sport his new Power Glove and show off his mad skills on Rad Racer. It's so bad (bad as in good). Here are some key take-aways to look out for:

• The two super-nerd goons that help Lucas unpack the glove,
  connect it, and put away the steel carrying case.
• Notice the sound-bit tribute to Close Encounters of the Third Kind as Lucas starts up the game.
• The little brother's stare is just awesome. He looks so bored.

I don't know about you, but when I first saw this movie as a young lad, I nearly wet my pants in excitement. And don't even get me started on the hype machine that was Super Mario Bros. 3 for the NES.
