Assassin's Creed announced for PS3 [update 1]
Ubisoft Montreal (Splinter Cell & Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time) is currently developing its first PlayStation 3 title, Assassin's Creed. Set in the midst of the Third Crusade, players will become Altair, a member of the Assassins, and must strike both sides of the conflict to preserve the Holy Land. A teaser, which is on par with other suspicious PS3 trailers, has been posted on the official website ... That can't be the 'actual' game! Of course not, it's pre-rendered, silly.
Ubisoft hopes to turn Assassin's Creed into a full-fledged franchise. This first installment will make its debut next week at E3. It's worth noting that the game has not yet been concept approved by Sony.
Update:Assassin's Creed (or 'Project Assassin,' as it was formerly titled) was also announced for the Xbox 360 at X05. Despite 1Up's article, and until further notice, the game should not be considered a PS3 exclusive.
