EA confirms 6 games for Wii [update 1]

Electronic Arts has shown its support for the Nintendo Wii by announcing six titles that will grace the console, including:
  • The Godfather
  • Harry Potter
  • Madden NFL 07
  • Need for Speed Carbon
  • SSX
  • Tiger Woods PGA Tour

According to Senior VP and general manager John Schappert, "Once we started to experiment with Madden on Wii, there was an explosion of innovation. Everyone in the studio is energized by the creative opportunity afforded by both the hardware and controller."

While it is not surprising (EA throws massive support behind every console in existence), it does show a major publisher not deterred by Nintendo's new controls, a far departure from current controllers. The inclusion of The Godfather is significant in that the title was not published on the GameCube and could be released near the Xbox 360 version gets launched on October 2nd.
