Repairing iPods big business

Ah, the iPod. You love it, I love it, your mother loves it. I would say that at least 98% of the world loves these little white miracles. Sadly, they aren't perfect. They break, and like any expensive electronic gadget they aren't cheap to replace.

Enter the third party iPod repair shops, which according to the Seattle Times, are popping up all over the place. If you know a little bit about iPods it seems you can make some serious cash fixing these babies for iTunes addicted folks.

Has anyone out there had their iPod fixed by someone other than Apple? How did it work out?
