Pioneers new golden receiver -- VSA-AX1AV

Another day and another HDMI-equipped audio video receiver here at the 'Beat. The Pioneer VSA-AX1AV drops with the dual HDMI ports we have came to expect from a $1,000 ($1,025 really) receiver. Thanks to Google translation though, we don't know for sure what version of HDMI it supports, but the press release doesn't say anything about Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD and the receiver can accept audio transmission so we confident that it is version 1.2. Just like the Sony yesterday, this Pioneer promises high-power at 180 watts per seven channels but it needs to be stated that rating is derived at 6Ω. Pioneer also threw in the normal assortment of legacy connectors but also, an iPod control interface that allows for playback plus control via the receiver's remote. However, if you have one of those fancy video iPods then it will display the iPod info through the monitor out and onto your display. We doubt we will see this golden receiver here in the states but rather a silver or black one with similar features. This guy is dropping the September at a price of 118,000 Yen ($1,025 USD).
