Panasonic Prez Sayz: Small market for high-def DVDs
High-def DVDs is a small market – at least for now says Panasonic's President Martin Kono. He believes that the market for DVDs are still going strong and eventually there will be a market for high-def DVDs but it isn't going to be this year. Plus, there is that whole high up-front cost of these formats. Remember, Panasonic's Blu-ray player is going to retail for $1,299. You know, we agree with him. The market for high-def DVDs is rather small right now but we are sure that over time it will grow with leaps and bounds as people discover how much better their HDTV could look and they become aware of other options.
