GuildWatch: That crafty Nefarian is going down

This week on GuildWatch, our weekly look at the latest and greatest in guild happenings, we've got more reader-submitted downings than we've ever had. What did Nefarian ever do to you guys anyway? Oh, that's right, he took over Blackrock Spire, his sister is masquerading as a human, he sent Rend Blackhand to kill you, and he corrupted Vaelestrasz before your very eyes. Ok, then, go ahead and kill him.

And don't forget, if you've got info to add in here, drop us a quick note at wowguildwatch@gmail.com with your news, realm, and faction. We'll take it all-- drama (send pics!), downings (ditto), or recruiting news. Check GW after the link.

DRAMA

  • We've heard through the grapevine that over on Thorium Brotherhood (pretty sure that's the server, could be wrong), Mootrain finally made High Warlord, and proceeded to have his account hacked by a keylogger. Sucks, but the good news is that apparently a bunch of guilds on the server pulled together to donate gold and get Moo back the items he'd lost from the hack. That'd almost be heartwarming, if I didn't, you know, play a battlescarred Orc Shaman with a mean FS.

  • Elements of Avalon and Cyrus the Wise, both on Cenarion Circle, have merged, creating a guild with over 500 members. Anybody bigger?

  • Argent Exodus on Steamwheedle Cartel-A is holding a "Hero's Festival" on 9/20 in Ratchet, featuring free drinks, duels and poetry (not sure which one of those will be more deadly), and a "Date With a Hero" auction.

  • Family Honor on Khaz Modan-A got /gquitted by a few of its leaders, and now is a shell of its former self-- a 5/10 man and alt parking lot. "Good times!" says our informant sarcastically.

DOWNED

  • Brave Companions on Draka killed both Fankris and Huhuran within two hours of each other. Their witty rep says they're aiming for "the Guinness Book of World Dragons."

  • Shen en Calhar on Aggramar-H downed Hakkar and then did it three more times. They sent along before and after shots, and even gave him a farm status card. I'm almost willing to let them kill me, just so I can get a nifty card.

  • Lunacy on Hellscream-H has finished off both Nef and the AQ Prophet. Grats, guys.

  • Wrath on Malganis-H finished off Nef, too.

  • Celestial Knights on Eldre'Thalas killed Ossirian on Sunday, Razergore on Wednesday, and Vael on Friday. Wow!

  • Divide and Conquer killed Onyxia-- pic above.

  • Darknova on Alexstrasza-H killed Raggy.

  • After five tries, Last Stand on Defias Brotherhood-H pwned (their word, not mine) Nefarian.

  • Inspire on Aszune-A downed Lucifron

RECRUITING

  • Rabid Lemmings on Blackhand-H is recruting "extremely casual" raiding players. In my humble opinion, those are the best kind.

  • Excessum from Scilla (not sure which side) is recruiting casuals, too, and plans to do fun stuff like guild questing and scavenger hunts

  • Street Fighter II (winner of our Best Guild Name award for the week) is recruiting on Bloodscalp-A

  • Aspects on Frostmourne-H wants dedicated players of all classes

  • Reign of Darkness on Stormscale-A wants hardcore priests and warriors for endgame

  • The Eleventh Hour (Earthen Ring-A) is looking for everything but paladins and priests

  • Nemesis on Alexstrasza-H is recruiting

  • War Tribe is recruiting 50+ on Daggerspine-H

That's it for the GW this week-- remember if you want your guild featured here (or have some insider drama to share with us-- forum rants are always fun to read), send along your info, realm, and faction to wowguildwatch@gmail.com.
