GigaOM thinks Steve Jobs is Bill Gates 2.0

Über-blogger Om Malik watched Apple's special event, like the rest of us, but he came away with some thoughts that I doubt most Mac users are thinking. After watching Jobs' masterful presentation Om couldn't help but think that Apple, and Steve, are Microsoft/Bill Gates 2.0.

He makes some good points. DRM zealots dislike Jobs because of the DRM lock in that the iTunes/iPod represent. Apple is keeping very tight control over the iPod ecosystem. And the cherry on top of this Bill Gates sundae (ok, sorry for that mental image)? The fact that Steve introduced the iTV, which won't be available for months. This is a classic Microsoft move, designed to keep other people out of the market since it is clear that the 800 pound gorilla will crush them.
