Sony gives games to charity -- breath of fresh air

Sony needs a smile, or give other people a smile... something about smiles or happiness. Well, they've done just that. Sony has given away 200 games, retailing over $5,000, to the charity Get Well Gamers. A nice touch, Sony. This foundation has brought electronic entertainment to sick kids for over five years now and we say: great idea. This isn't meant in disrespect, rather as a first-hand observation -- but kids need something to do if they're bedridden in the hospital and the TV's alone just don't cut it. Again, not being facetious, this is from experience. Hospitals are boring.

Ryan Sharpe, President of the charity, also gives Sony the nod. "We are deeply grateful to the Sony Corporation for its wonderful generosity, especially with the holiday season upon us." Now, let's be fair. This is a very small step, but it is one worthy of a small pat on the back for our lumbering corporate friend. We'll also be fair -- Microsoft is also listed on the thanks page, so it seems to be pats on the back all around! Heck, if any of you feel like donating a couple of greenbacks, check out the charity site.
