Around Azeroth: Former monuments

Tsel of Agamaggan sent in this shot from Ashenvale of a ruined statue. And I agree with him — it does feel fairly Planet of the Apes-esque. However, if there's any history or lore behind this, I don't know it — anyone out there who can step up and tell us where this statue came from?
