How accurate are video game rumors?

Joystiq's own Kyle Orland (we call him O-dawg in the office) examines the legitimacy of a video game rumors in his media coverage column for GameDaily. To do so, Orland ranked 88 distinct EGM rumors on a scale of 1-5; one being completely false and five being completely true. So how likely are gaming rumors to be 100% accurate when taken from the magazine's 2003 archives? Just barely over 50% of the time or 3.1 on the study's five-point authenticity scale.
