Notable franchises that no longer have game

Games Radar examines the best franchises that no longer serve up sweet fruit in abundance. Once popular, these critically acclaimed titles have recently taken a nose dive for whatever reason to become the rotten stinkers (most) are today.

The reason? Maybe the original series creator bailed. Maybe a game gets lost in translation from system to system. Or maybe the creators lose sight of what originally made the game great (hint: pressure from publishers). Regardless, here are seven controversial franchises with quality and/or consistency issues. And you don't have to look far to figure out which series took the top dishonors.
