US Music

US: Never Never by Brick & Lace
Brick & Lace are a sister duo from Jamaica who's been lucky enough to have a mentor by the name of Akon. "Never Never" is the debut single from the group and it's our free Single of the Week. The track is a booming, midtempo club tune with high-pitched synths guiding the bass lines while the sisters effortlessly trade slick, sassy vocals back and forth. Get it now before the group's debut, Love is Wicked, is released later this year.

US: Espacio Sideral by Jesse & Joy
Mexico's Jesse & Joy are a brother and sister duo whose music has a very natural, organic sound. The vocals are intimate and the buoyant, roots-y rock tunes lack glossy production, sounding like the best bar band you've ever heard. "Espacio Sideral" is the duo's debut single from the album Esta Es Mi Vida. The track exemplifies the group's warmth – mixing up a bit of sing-along folk with a raucous rock 'n' roll chorus.

US: Make It Easy (John Tejada Remix) by Lusine
Working under the name Lusine, Jeff McIlwain creates placid, abstract electronics that are indebted to both the earliest, streamlined techno and more recent developments in IDM. Here, a track from his 2004 album Serial Hodgepodge gets remixed into icy, metronomic, melancholic bliss by John Tejada. This week's free Discovery Download comes from the album Podgelism, a collection of remixes of the entire Serial Hodgepodge album.

International

Australia: Crash Tragic by Operator Please
Hailing from Queensland's Gold Coast, the explosive quintet Operator Please has been steadily making a name for itself with its bouncy, punk-ish, hook-laden tunes. Recently, the band has toured with the likes of Modest Mouse and Dappled Cities Fly. With influences ranging from the B-52's to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Operator Please has recently released the Cement Cement EP featuring "Get What You Want" and our free Single of the Week, the organ-drenched pogo-friendly pop of "Crash Tragic".

New Zealand: Crash Tragic by Operator Please

Canada: Fall Apart Again by Peter Elkas
"Fall Apart Again" is a rich, modern soul number inspired by the warm, crisp sounds of Al Green and Curtis Mayfield. Not necessarily as funky as either of those, but the whirr of the organ and the slow, hushed groove show a parallel. Endorsed by Ron Sexsmith and produced by Charlie Sexton, Peter Elkas's music seems destined for great thing. Get this track as our free Single of the Week today.

France: La perdue by Bertrand Belin

UK: Everything I've Got by Iain Archer
Iain Archer is the former guitarist for the Reindeer Section and Snow Patrol. His time as a co-lyricist in Snow Patrol also led to him receiving an Ivor Novello Award. This track from his second solo album, Magnetic Former, is a big slice of dreamy psych-influenced pop. Archer's slightly boyish voice has a bit of loneliness underneath, while the music transposes backwards guitar notes over spectral indie bliss. "Everything I've Got" is our free Single of the Week.
