You may not be prepared, but Dell apparently is
Acting on a tip by reader Rufus, I checked out the section of Dell's website devoted to their XPS Notebook line, where I found two banners advertising World of Warcraft, though the game's name isn't directly displayed. The first banner reads 'You are not prepared', and the second reads '12.11.07', with the XPS logo beneath it.
Clicking through, I was asked to provide my name and email address, after which entry I was shown a screen with the following text: "BE PATIENT. Your quest has begun — you'll receive an exclusive look and chance to take home an epic World of Warcraft experience on 12/04/07."
Now, it's unlikely that this has anything to do with the upcoming WoW expansion Wrath of the Lich King; I'd be hard-pressed to believe that Blizzard would leak a release date so haphazardly. I expect that it's the date of the launch of a brand-new, heavy-spec notebook somehow 'blessed' by Blizzard, though what that would mean I can't begin to imagine. One thing you do get by signing up for whatever this turns out to be is 3 new wallpapers, each featuring 3 different resolutions.
So, what do you all think? Could this, in fact, be the actual release date of WotLK? If not, what in Hades is it?
[Thanks, Rufus!]
