Yesterday in Second Life there was:

• 16,576 new signups bringing the total to 11,410,843 signups.
• A peak concurrency of 52,843 at 2:45PM, and a minimum concurrency of 22,318 at 2:15AM. Median concurrency for the day was 41,642.
• The Grid Stability Index for the day was 2.28 (lower is better).
• A large-scale grid failure early this-morning went unnanounced, affecting several thousand users.
• On the plus side, nearly half a million lost inventory items were recovered by Linden Lab and returned to their owners. Apparently 'tis the season to take in homeless prims.
• The long awaited patch from Apple to close a serious security exploit in their QuickTime product was rolled out.
