Yesterday in Second Life, Monday 24 December, 2007
Yesterday in Second Life there was:
- 12,376 new signups bringing the total to 11,590,125 signups.
- A peak concurrency of 38,352 at 2:45PM, and a minimum concurrency of 27,902 at 11:50PM. Median concurrency for the day was 34,393.
- The Grid Stability Index for the day was 1.42 (lower is better).
- The grid was astonishingly quiet (more on that after the fold). There was a 30 minute disruption somewhere in the backend in the late afternoon.
- Pastrami Linden published the results of the 100 person survey on Windlight.
Below is the day's concurrency graphed for yesterday (left), and the corresponding day from the previous week (right)
As a bonus, below is the concurrency for Christmas Eve last year:
As you can see, there is a noticeably similar pattern, comparing this year to last year – Although last year, we barely peaked at about 14,000. This year, the median alone was more than double that figure.
Active users reported by Linden Lab (that is, users who have logged in for more than 60 minutes in the last 60 days) is 1,392,133. Linden Lab last updated this figure on 23 Dec 2007 at 23:59.
